After our nice experience in Northern Ireland where we spent our last pounds on sweets :-) we went on to Connemara in Ireland. When we got there, we had some sun and the landscape was nice, really similar to Scotland. We went on to Clifden where we spent a nice evening in a pub. Outside it was raining and inside we had cider and pale ale with real irish music. That was wonderful because other musicans came and joined the session singing and fideling. The rain didn't make much more possible :-( ...
The next day we went on to Logh Corrib where the sun came out and where we had a wonderful walk: a long the lake, trough the forest, over the meadow towards the sun...
Francois even took a bath on the lake, I prefered our shower in the van. Afterwards we had a nice campfire with filled peppers. We really enjoyed this place called Oughterard wher e many locals from Galway come on holidays, people were friendly and welcoming.
After a quick stop in Galway where the crowd overwhelmed us, we went on to Cork where we joined a craft and gift fair on the Fota Island in a natural parc. The place was really nice with lots of species of trees, but the weather was not gentle and the people weren't really interested in our crations... difficult to accept. The wind also nearly blew away our tent. Not a good day... there are some of these, too... of course, you would say... ;-)
For our last days in Ireland we decided to go to Kinsale in the South of Ireland. And for our surprise it was the nicest thing to do. This small gentle village on the seaside is spectecular and the view amazing...like the Irish would say ;-) But they are right: we set our van on the top of a hill next to Charles' Fort where we had a great view, the best departure point for walks and ridings. We met interesting Hungarian people, ate delicious scones and mussles, drank tasty cider and pale ale... It was difficult to say good bye to Ireland and especially to Kinsale... An Irsih lady said to us when she heard that we are on the road for one year, that we are not allowed to fall in love with a place... we didn't understand at the moment but now we know...
